NRO IV-B holds Planners’ Meeting, PDF in new Regional Center |

The NEDA IV-B has started operationalizing the conduct of RDC activities in the new Regional Center by organizing two major activities in Calapan City last February 18 and 19, 2008. The first activity was the conduct of Local Development Planners Meeting attended by the five Provincial Planning and Development Coordinators, and municipal/city planning coordinators from the capital towns of the five MIMAROPA provinces. In the meeting, the participants were briefed on the guidelines of the Provincial/Local Planning and Expenditure Management (PLPEM). Also, the NEDA staff acquainted the participants on the updates of Community Based Monitoring System implementation in the region and the status of the Regional Government Center. |

PGMA confirms Gov. Joel Reyes as MIMAROPA RDC Chair |

President GMA appointed Palawan Governor Joel T. Reyes as the 3rd Chairman of the MIMAROPA Regional Development Council since the region’s creation in 2002. Gov. Reyes appointment was released on December 13, 2007.

MIMAROPA Regional Center opens for business |

Adhering to the provision of EO 682, twenty-four MIMAROPA Regional Line Agencies officially started business operation in the new Regional Center in Calapan City following the inauguration of satellite offices on the occasion of the 23rd Regional Development Council Meeting held last February 19, 2008. No less than Undersecretary Danilo Encinas and Assistant Secretary Sarah Buena Mirasol of the Office of the Presidential Assistant for New Government Center (OPANGC) graced the momentous occasion highlighted by the unveiling of the location map of the 24 satellite offices. On his message, Usec. Encinas commended the sincerity and determination of the RDC and committed his office to help out in mobilizing resources for the development of MIMAROPA Regional Government Center.
